5 steps to succeed in 2030
GOAL
A career goal is the ideal state that you aim for in your professional life. Career goals can be characterized as short-term or long-term, depending on how much time you anticipate working toward achieving your goal. Ultimately, achieving your short-term and long-term career goals will bring you closer to your SUCCESS.

RESEARCH
Career path research is the act of investigating potential career opportunities in order to determine which field is the best fit for you. Research allows you to get a more complete understanding of a potential career path, including what the requirements are to work in the field, what to expect once you are working in the field and common career progressions for a specific path. By thoroughly researching career paths that interest you, you can compare their strengths and weaknesses in order to compare the relative appeal of each.
PLAN
Planning is creating a guide for a person with an intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD) to lead a good life as independently as possible. A plan is important throughout all stages of life and especially in the future after the parent or caregiver is no longer able to provide support.
A person-centered future plan should reflect the wishes of the person with I/DD, as well as his or her parents, siblings, extended family members and friends, and other important people in his or her life. The plan should include
- Identify your area of interest. ...
- Learn about potential career plans. ...
- Discover growing job markets. ...
- Understand career qualifications. ...
- Assess salaries and other benefits. ...
- Compare possible career paths. ...
- Develop a career action plan. ...
- Professional goal.
ACTION
Action for Carers helps carers of all ages, by providing respite through groups and activities and giving practical and emotional support and assistance. Our aim is to enable carers to have a voice and realise a life outside caring.
A carer is anyone, including children, who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support.
We are proud to make a difference to the children and adults that we support.
RESULT

“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.”
― Pelé, Brazillian pro footballer
